"If I could, I'd like to go back to the Showa era, but I can't.
So, at the very least, I'll fill my own life with the Showa era."
Yu Hirayama
The latest book by popular blogger Yu Hirayama, author of "Showa Spot Tour," titled "Living in the Reiwa Era in a Showa Lifestyle," has been published. Hirayama bought a secondhand house, filled it with Showa-era items, and embraced Showa fashion, hobbies, and work—a lifestyle he's maintained for over 20 years. This book offers a glimpse into the lives of 27 people living in the Showa era, showcasing their rooms, appliances, goods, tableware, fashion, and lifestyles, giving readers a real sense of stepping back in time.
This is part of the incredibly popular "Showa Obsession Series" from 303BOOKS, featured at SUT. To commemorate the publication of "Living in the Reiwa Era in a Showa Lifestyle," we will be displaying a selection of the best photographs from the book on panels. Hirayama, born in 1968, the same year as the SUT store manager, shares his blog with a glimpse into the chaotic "those days." The sideboard in the living room, the thermos in the kitchen, the glass ashtray, the spice rack on the dining table, the chinchilla dashboard mat... it's all part of the "Showa" era. This panel exhibition will feature a full lineup of our previous Showa-era themed series. Come and see the Showa era, nostalgic for our generation and fresh for younger generations.

Born in Tokyo in 1968. Since 2012, he has been reporting on Showa-era spots, regardless of genre, on his blog "Showa Spot Tour." He has visited over 2200 locations. He also lives in an old house he bought, completely recreating a Showa-era home. "If I could, I'd like to go back to the Showa era, but I can't. So, at the very least, I dress in Showa-era clothes, drive a classic Japanese car, and listen to Japanese pop music while touring places that retain the atmosphere of the Showa era."
