Kohei Maekawa Photo Exhibition

You can fix a house with duct tape.

June 18, 2025 (Wed) - June 22, 2025 (Sun)

12:00-19:00

The last day is until 6 PM.

The ingenuity and incongruity that often lurk in everyday life and are easily overlooked—
"You Can Fix Your House with Duct Tape" is a work by photographer Kohei Maekawa that documents things he encountered while delivering pizzas.

What he saw were houses wrapped in duct tape, trees with empty Coca-Cola cans growing on them, and flowerpots wearing jeans. Each one was strange, yet somehow humorous. They could be described as personal, modest "monuments" hidden behind the orderly facade of the city.

Of course, these are far from conventional "beauty," and one might be bewildered if they were next to their home. Nevertheless, there's a strange charm to the freedom of expression, unbound by purpose or common sense.

This exhibition will offer an opportunity to re-examine our unconscious assumptions about how we view our daily lives through these objects.
