Nuusle Exhibition
Observing the space between things; appreciating nothingness.
July 3rd (Wed) - July 14th (Sun), 2024
12:00-19:00
Open until 6 PM on Sundays and the last day of the month / Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
This is a solo exhibition by the design unit "Nuusle".
Nuusle is a combination of "sewing" and "printing."
Nuusle draws inspiration from everyday scenes, music, and culture, translating them into geometric patterns. They create unique designs born from hand-printing, something unattainable in mass-produced items. From a graphic perspective, they create pop and fun items that are uplifting to own.
This exhibition showcases their past textile works, exploring how the geometric patterns they use as motifs can freely develop beyond the materials themselves, and revisiting their motivations for creation through a carefully designed exhibition.
→Nuusle/Nusle
Nuusle is a unit comprised of graphic designers Jun Miyazaki and Eriko Miyazaki. They handcraft various goods such as silkscreen-printed tenugui (Japanese hand towels) and leather accessories. Without limiting themselves to specific design themes, they create what they find interesting and desirable at the time, while aiming for a product line that feels distinctly "Nuusle."

→About Silkscreen Printing
Nuusle uses silkscreen printing for printing on its products, including tenugui (Japanese hand towels). When silkscreen printing is used on fabric, compared to dyeing, areas with large prints and darker colors generally have a crisp texture, and lines and colors appear sharper. Nuusle values this crispness, the nuance of the lines, and the vibrant colors. The crisp texture at first will gradually soften with prolonged use.
