Group Exhibition of Photographers

The Things You See in Photographs Exhibition 2025
March 19, 2025 (Wed) - March 30, 2025 (Sun)
12:00 - 19:00
Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays / Open until 6 PM on Sundays and the last day of the month.

A group photography exhibition, the second in the series, where photographers express themselves through their work.

Their lives are reflected in those photographs. Even unconsciously, their thoughts, lifestyles, and circumstances project diverse life experiences. Different times, different places, different subjects. These aren't meant to appeal to a wide audience, but rather are directed towards someone they can truly connect with. Perhaps they're a message directed just for you.

Life is free. They exist on a journey to find their own focus. Some are students, some have just entered the workforce, some aspire to be professionals, some are pursuing their dreams once again, and others are working in Japan after living abroad. Each of them lives diligently, experiencing limitations within their own free world.

Each of their photographs holds an unseen emotional space. Beyond the truth of the moment captured by the photographer, there's an emotional space for the viewer to imagine what lies beyond. I want you to see their lives reflected in these photographs. And at the same time, I want you to feel your own life reflected within these photographs.

2022 Gallery Conceal Shibuya Joint Exhibition "PEACEFUL"

▷The moment I entered SUT GALLERY,

I felt a sense of nostalgia for the atmosphere, like a candy store.

Now that I'm an adult,

I captured in photographs the aspirations and joys of that time,

and the things that have become annoying.

I hope you enjoy the calm atmosphere of the gallery as well.

▷The Time of Flowers / When flowers can be flowers
Flowers that come to my house and wither—flowers from my birthday, flowers from my wedding anniversary, flowers from an ordinary day, flowers I bought cheaply at the supermarket—I think flowers are beautiful, but I never really thought about photographing them.
(When an ordinary presence is suddenly lost)
My perspective on the world changed. It seemed like an event that happened in the blink of an eye, yet it felt like it was stretched out endlessly. By photographing flowers, I can give an end to that fleeting, stretched-out time.

▷ The world we live in isn't always beautiful.
Yet, the clouds still drift.
Yet, the setting sun still burns.
We all live within the same flow of time.
In a world that spins at an impossibly fast pace, I've gathered together the beauty that unexpectedly appeared.
A record of one life, lived through days that don't always go as planned.
A record of precious memories that can be found anywhere.

▷ "Daydream"

Even with her eyes closed, she can feel it:

The dazzling brightness of the light streaming in,

and the gentle comfort of the shadows.

The green you see and the green I see may be different,

but the black and white you see,

the light and shadow,

feel like they're the same as mine.

She captured moments of 2024 with monochrome film, words, and drawings.

005:Hsiangning Wu

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Currently residing in Tokyo.

I travel casually, as if I were living there, and live as if I were traveling.

While working in design and photography, I also work as part of the creative unit "Kumoism."

▷When I first started photography, I felt like I could preserve anything forever by pressing the shutter button. However, the more I pressed the shutter, the more I became aware that things would eventually be lost.

Days spent with family and friends, fleeting moments that will never return. I have continued to take pictures, keeping in mind that farewells will one day come.

Even when capturing fragments of everyday life, I have never truly preserved anything. Photography is a testament to confronting the reality of loss, telling the story of irreplaceable things that have disappeared.
